Restoration Pictures

  • Restored to an extremely high standard from a very solid California car. Car was originally sold in California and is where I bought it. Less than 100 miles since restoration completion.
  • Chassis and body media blasted to clean white metal. Chassis was very straight with no signs of rust.
  • All floors including trunk, inner and out sills, rockers and rear fender dog legs were all replaced with British made panels.
  • Chassis coated with PPG Corrosion Resistant Epoxy and then top coated with urethane clear coat.
  • Chassis was reassembled with all new rubber bushings throughout the suspension.
  • Shock absorbers were rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics.
  • Brake calipers were also rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics. Car has new master cylinder and new pads and shoes.
  • New cloth wiring harness, turn signal control box, voltage regulator, starter solenoid, battery, battery switch and cables.
  • Starter and generator rebuilt by Astro Electric.
  • Engine remanufactured by Performance Engines. It was bored and balanced. All new pistons, bearings, oil pump, timing chain and tensioner. Head was also rebuilt. (It runs exceptionally smooth)
  • Transmission rebuilt, including new syncro rings.
  • New clutch, master cylinder and slave.
  • Overdrive rebuilt. New accumulator piston and housing, O-rings and seals, solenoid, relay and throttle switch.
  • Rear differential disassembled and reassembled with all new seals and gaskets. New u-joints in driveline.
  • Carburetors rebuilt and re-bushed with new throttle shaft by Joe Curto, the SU carb guru in NY.
  • The car also has new fuel pump.
  • Radiator is original with new 4 row core installed in lieu of original 3 row. It also has a 6-blade original type cooling fan (most came with 4-blade) for better cooling.
  • Body was carefully assembled with much attention given to fit and margins, before painting, to assure proper fits. The body was then painted with epoxy primers and urethane base coat/clear coat system. It was then hand buffed to a magnificent finish.
  • New fender bead was then installed as final body fits were made.
  • Original grill was then polished and reinstalled. The grill is in perfect show room condition.
  • Windshield frame was rechromed and new windshield installed.
  • All other chrome trim was either rechromed or replaced.
  • The interior is all new, including all foam, padding and backer panels. The seats are handcrafted from vat dyed leather (not a kit) and were professionally installed. The trim panels are English grained vinyl, as original.
  • The top and tonneau cover are made in England from original type Everflex. Also included are the tonneau rail and stiffeners.
  • All new side curtains and bag and original type jack with wheel spinner hammer are all included.
  • Wheels are powder coated to look original but give a more durable finish. Car has new chrome spinners.
  • Exhaust system is new stainless steel. This enhances that awesome Healey trademark sound.
  • Exhaust manifold is ceramic coated.
  • All instruments work properly and are in excellent condition. The speedometer was set at zero when rebuilt.
  • Heater and all vents, air control and fan work properly (has new ducting, etc.).
  • British Motor Heritage Trust Certificate verifies car being originally a Colorado Red car with red interior, black top and correct engine ID numbers. Certificate is included plus a CD showing complete set of restoration pictures.
